November 2026 in Bethany & Oak Hills: The Month Ahead

2026-10-27 5 min read Paul Knighton & Chris Hayes

November, month by month

November is a short, busy month in this corridor: election day, the last Saturdays of the farmers market, leaf-disposal season, Veterans Day, the start of the holiday push and Thanksgiving itself. Here is the month ahead with dates and sources, so you can plan around what matters to you and your family.

Every date below comes from the organizer's own page and was re-verified this week, but annual events do shift, so confirm on the linked page before you head out. Our community calendar collects all of it in one place.

Election day first: November 3

Washington County's November 3 general election is underway, and Oregon votes entirely by mail. Your completed ballot needs to be in the mail or in an official drop box by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3. Drop boxes sit at every WCCLS library, including the Cedar Mill and Bethany Community Library branches, and at county sites, open 24 hours through Election Day.

One practical note from this week's news: county officials disclosed a misprint in the printed Voters' Pamphlet, a page-layout error in the U.S. Senate section. The races on your ballot are unaffected, and the corrected pamphlet is on the county elections page, linked from our voter's guide.

The farmers market's final Saturdays

The Beaverton Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through November 21, its last day of the season before the winter market returns in February 2027. This year it also hosts Halloween at the market on Saturday, October 31, a festive final stretch of the outdoor season.

There is no December market, so the November 21 Saturday is the last chance for local produce, flowers, crafts and food carts until winter. The market's own page has the full season calendar.

Leaf disposal starts November 1

Free leaf disposal for Beaverton residents runs every Saturday and Sunday starting November 1 through early December, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bring leaves and pine needles loose or in paper bags (no plastic) to keep storm drains clear, and the city collects food donations for local food banks at the events.

The two drop-off sites are the Beaverton Operations Facility at 9600 SW Allen Blvd and Highland Park Middle School at 7000 SW Wilson Ave. Confirm the season's locations on the city's leaf-disposal page before you go.

Veterans Day, November 11

Beaverton School District schools and offices are closed on Wednesday, November 11 for Veterans Day. The American Legion's Beaverton Post 124 holds its annual Veterans Day celebration at 11:00 a.m. that morning; the exact venue is posted on the post's calendar closer to the date, and in recent years it has been held at Southwest Bible Church in Beaverton.

It is a small, meaningful way to mark the day close to home, and the post's page is the authoritative source for the 2026 details.

One Book, One Beaverton kicks off November 7

The library's community-wide reading program returns with Greenwood by Michael Christie as this year's selection, and the kick-off celebration is Saturday, November 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Beaverton City Library, with free copies of the book and an event guide for attendees.

It is a genuinely local, low-key November activity: read the same book as half the city, then catch the author events and discussions the library lines up through the season. The library's page has the full program.

Thanksgiving week and the Turkey Trot

Beaverton School District is closed for Thanksgiving week, and the corridor's signature Thanksgiving-morning tradition is the Oak Hills Tim Tank Turkey Trot, a family-friendly 5K run and walk at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 26 that benefits a Beaverton School District scholarship. Entry is modest and open to all paces.

It starts at 400 NW 153rd Ave in the Oak Hills and Bethany area, and the race listing has registration and start details. A run before the turkey is how a lot of neighbors do this one.

November evenings at The Reser

The Reser has a full November stage. The month starts with a free lecture demonstration with Hung Dance on Tuesday, November 3 ahead of the company's full run November 5 through 7, then Sport Oregon's awards night on November 10, Jim Brickman's holiday piano on November 12, the Downtown Beaverton Harvest and Holiday Night Market on November 14, With Her Own Wings on November 19, the Django Festival Allstars on November 21, and Campana Sobre Campana: Christmas in Mexico on November 28.

That last one closes the month with mariachi and holiday music, a warm way to step from Thanksgiving straight into December. Tickets and exact showtimes are on The Reser's events page.

Ask us what is next

We keep this month-ahead guide and our community calendar refreshed every few weeks, so if you are planning further out, the December list is already taking shape: the Bethany Village tree lighting on December 1, Beaverton Winter Lights on December 4, The Nutcracker December 5 through 6, and holiday concerts across the month.

And if you are weighing a move to Bethany or Oak Hills and want to know what the neighborhood looks like across a full calendar year, ask us. We know this corridor month by month.
