Grand Central is a Portland institution built on bread that is baked through the morning, and its Cedar Mill cafe is a genuine neighborhood anchor in the 97229 corridor. The case is full of loaves and pastries, and the kitchen turns out breakfast sandwiches, soups and salads that are reliably good.
For buyers, it doubles as a useful geographic marker: hang a left here and you are minutes from the Oak Hills entry, keep going and you are at Bethany Village. Grabbing coffee and a cinnamon roll before a day of tours is practically tradition around here.
